On the back of the photograph there are several printed and written elements.

The photograph is styled as a post card and has "POST CARD", "Place Postage Stamp Here" as well as the following information about the studio, "The Boyer Studio" and "43 Main St., Nantucket, Mass."

Someone wrote in pen, "For my dearest [illegible] Nantucket, Sept. 8th 1916"

Someone else wrote in pencil, "Frances Secor Mitchner Hastings Gardner; Donated by Esther (Mrs. Harold) Blandy, Smithfield, 5 Sept. 1991"

Collections that are given to the Heritage Center are done so under a Deed of Gift agreement in which the donor transfers physical ownership rights as well as, "all right and title to... items without limiting conditions to the Heritage Center."
