This collection of five photographs includes images of life in Smithfield, North Carolina from around 1923-1940. The first image is of Sanders and Horn Food Store, where Dan S. Kirkman (1908-1988) was the manager in 1940. The second photo shows the inside of the David Pender Store as it looked when Kirkman was manager in 1928.
