The Smithfield Industry Scrapbook contains newspaper clippings concerning industry in Smithfield and Johnston County, and the effort of the Smithfield Woman’s Club to determine how to promote Smithfield as a good place for industry to locate.

Scope and Contents The Smithfield Woman’s Club photograph collection consists almost completely of photographs. Amongst the few textual materials are newspaper articles. The collection principally records three subject matters. First, the photographs record the various activities that the club was involved in.
