White Oak Plantation (Johnston County, N.C.)

 Subject
Subject Source: Local sources
Scope Note: The White Oak Plantation, which contained the Sanders Hairr House, is located in the Cleveland township. The residence is an example of Georgian Federal architecture and was built circa 1787 soon after Reuben Sanders purchased 430 acres on the north side of Swift Creek in May 1786. He named his plantation "White Oak" after the creek of that name on the east, towards which the house faces.
