Biographical / Historical

the Willis Tyner family also had an alternative surname spelling - the "Tiner" family. Such name alterations were common during this time period; names were often spelled as they were heard. The general trend appears to be from the earlier "Tiner" spelling to the latter "Tyner" spelling.
