One of the two included photographs was used in the Smithfield Herald's December 7, 1962 edition. The caption under the photo reads, "First-Citizens Bank and Trust Company co-operated with leading industries of the area in preparing $2 bill payrolls for distribution this week. Shown here are Lester Hales (left), bank messenger, and Clifford Massengil, cashier and vice president, leaving the bank to deliver bags of $2 bills to industrial plants."
