Physical Description

Included with the photograph is a sticky note with additional background information on the the two nurses. The note's description reads "c. 1920. Seated on the steps of 'the old Myatt Boarding House' are nurses Ruth Schmick [illegible] and Elizabeth Waters, who staffed the first hospital in Johnston County. Miss Shmick was superintendent of nurses and surgical assistant. Miss Waters was anesthetist and dietition."
