Biography

Henry Bulls Watson was a farmer, land owner, and a 19th century Marine Corps Officer. His plantation, which he inherited from his Uncle Josiah Watson, was located on Brogden Road, Smithfield, Johnston County, NC.

Watson was born October 16,1812, to Willis and Elizabeth Bulls Watson. He married Mary Ann Higdon (the daughter of Gustavus and Elizabeth Rogers Higdon) on April 18, 1939, in Washington, DC, and they had the following children: Josiah Ogden (b. Jan. 14, 1839); Henry Lyndall (b. May 23, 1842); Mary Ferguson (b. Oct. 16, 1843); Aline Elizabeth (b. June 21, 1845); Mary Alice (b. Feb. 19, 1849); Elizabeth Bynum (b. May 1, 1852); Agnes Alwyn (b. August 23, 1855).

Watson died January 25, 1869.
