Biography

Reverend Heinrich (Henry) Lucht, who was born around 1885, was an ordained minister for 37 years. He preached primarily in Illinois and accepted no pay for his services as a minister of the Gospel. Rev. Lucht also enjoyed farming. He planted numerous crops and maintained large vineyards, which he sold to people who visited his farm.

He married Mathilda Buch in 1908, and the couple had three daughters and two sons. After his wife’s death in 1934, he married Leone Baker (July 4, 1916-May 30, 1915) of Four Oaks, and he lived in Johnston County for 18 years.

Rev. Lucht died June 15, 1966, and was buried in Knollwood Cemetery, Clayton, Johnston County, NC.
