Biography
Captain David E. McKennie was born March 3, 1847. He was a member of and Historian for the 2nd NC Junior Reserves and fought at the Battle of Bentonville.
McKennie married Sarah E. in 1872, and they had three children: Addie W. (born 1883), Malcolm (born 1885), and Lola McKennie Candler (b. 1877).
McKennie died on July 6, 1913, and was buried in Willow Dale Cemetery, Goldsboro, Wayne County, NC.
