Biography

Frederick Holliday Brooks was a distinguished attorney, judge, and long-time resident of Smithfield, Johnston County, NC.

Brooks was born August 12, 1878, in Virginia to James Mitchell and Nancy Hull Brooks. He married Lelia Ruth Parker on September 25, 1901, and the couple had two children: Frederick H. Brooks, Jr. (May 18, 1904-September 21, 1944), and Ruth P. Brooks (August 13,1906-April 29, 2003).

Brooks died February 8, 1960, and his wife died on December 27, 1964. Both are buried in Riverside Cemetery, Smithfield, Johnston County, NC.
