Biography

William Gaston Lassiter was born around 1835 to James and Lucy Lassiter. He enlisted as a Private with the Confederacy on June 20, 1861. He was a Prisoner of War and released from Point Lookout, MD, in 1865.

William Lassiter married Elizabeth "Bettie" Woodall January 30, 1868. Their children were Thomas James Lassiter, born in 1869, Flora Lassiter, born in 1870, Jasper Elijah Lassiter born in 1872, Seth William Lassiter, born in1874, Alice Lassiter Langston, born in 1878, and Lucy Lassiter Parsons born in 1882.

William G. Lassiter died in July, 1898, and was buried in the Cole and Lassiter Cemetery, Bentonville, NC.
