Avera(y), John Daniel, 1832-1900
Biography
John Daniel Avera(y) was born April 15, 1832, and was a son of Tom Avera. Avera(y) enlisted in the Confederate Army on February 26, 1862, as a Private, with Company B, 8th Battalion. She was originally from Benson, Johnston County, NC. The couple had three children: Willie L., Ella M., and Alonzo “Lonnie” F., and Lizzie was raised with this family. John Daniel Avery (at the time of his death, he was spelling his last name Avery), died August 30, 1900.
