Biography
The Smithfield Good Neighbor Council and the Citizen’s Advisory Group merged to become The Smithfield Good Neighbor and Community Development Council. The group held their first meeting on June 26, 1967, in the Smithfield Municipal Building. The following officers were elected: Rev. John Ryberg, Chairman; Q. K. Wall, Vice Chairman; George Mast, Recording Secretary. The purpose of this organization was to assist the community to develop its plan for better housing conditions throughout the Town of Smithfield.
